Horse Training Seminars and Clinics

The Guide horse Foundation and Janet Burleson, acknowledged as one of the world's pioneering horse trainers, provides a variety of free horse training classes, seminars and clinics. Janet Burleson is the author of six books including Helping Hooves and Miniature Horses in the Neighborhood.

Whenever feasible, a working Guide Horse team can attend these free seminars, share their experiences and demonstrate a Guide Horse in-action.

Click the links for different guide horse seminars:

To request a free Guide Horse clinic and appearance, just e-mail info@guidehorse.com

Please note that the Guide Horse Foundation is a 501(c) charity with a primary goal of working with the visually disabled. Free horse training seminar availability is subject to funding availability, scope of media exposure and personal tine constraints.

We receive thousands of appearance requests each year and it is impossible to accommodate every request for a horse training seminar. If your schedule is flexible, we can place your organization on a wait list and perform your Guide Horse seminar when we are in your area.

We recommend these horse training and intelligence books:

  • A-Z of Horse Behavior & Training Jackie Budd (Hardcover, Illustrated, 2000)

  • Behavior, Development and Training of the Horse : A Primer of Equine Psychology (Hardcover, 1981) Author: Frederic J. Sautter

  • Horse Psychology (Paperback, 1999) Author: Moyra Williams

  • Imprint Training of the Newborn Foal Robert Miller (Paperback, 2003)

  • Practical Horse Psychology (Paperback, 1973)

  • The Horse Physiology (Paperback, 1999) Author: Julie Brega

  • The Nature of Horses : Exploring Equine Evolution Intelligence and Behavior (Hardcover, 1997) Author: Stephen Budiansky
